PM to inaugurate Thrippunithura terminal metro station on March 6

Kochi: Thrippunithura Terminal, the last station of Kochi Metro’s first phase, will be dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The flag-off is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, at 10 am. The inauguration of the metro station will be conducted via video conference from Kolkata.

After the inauguration, the first train will run from Thrippunithura station to Aluva station with differently-abled children. Then the service will commence for the general public from Thrippunithura. The inauguration ceremony of Kochi Metro Phase 1-B will commence at Thrippunithura Terminal Station at 9:45 am.

The fare from Aluva to Thrippunithura Terminal is Rs 75. However, in connection with the inauguration, the fare from Aluva to Thrippunithura station will be Rs 60 with a discount of Rs 15 until further notice. Thrippunithura Metro Station was built on an area of 1.35 lakh square feet.
