Kozhikode: Police have initiated legal action against Amal, the victim of a brutal public trial and assault orchestrated by SFI workers at RSM SNDP College in Koyilandy. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Anunath, the college union secretary of SFI, who was allegedly involved in the assault against Amal on February 21.
Anunath was also assaulted in a clash linked to ragging. Subsequently, he lodged a complaint with both the police and college authorities. Notably, Amal’s name was absent from this initial complaint, which implicated three other individuals. However, on March 1st, Amal was allegedly assaulted by Anunath and fellow SFI activists. Consequently, Amal filed a complaint, leading to the expulsion of Anunath and others from the college. Amal contends that Anunath’s recent complaint against him is driven by animosity stemming from this incident.
Amal has vehemently denied the allegations against him, questioning why his name was not mentioned in the initial complaint lodged by Anunath. He has labeled the case as fabricated and urged authorities to review CCTV footage from the college premises to ascertain the truth. Furthermore, Amal has criticized the police for allegedly levying minor charges against the SFI activists involved in assaulting him.
