Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst the state’s severe financial crisis, the Finance Department has approved funds to a contract company for printing posters featuring the Chief Minister for the Nava Kerala Sadas. These posters, amounting to Rs 25.40 lakh, were printed to promote the Nava Kerala Sadas event. But, the Finance Department allocated a total of Rs 9.16 crore to the Kerala State Centre for Advanced Printing and Training (C-APT) for this purpose.
Reports indicate that the Public Relations Department (PRD) contract was awarded to C-APT without any competitive bidding process. Furthermore, while financial burdens persist across various sectors, including unpaid welfare pensions and overdue government employee salaries, significant allocations have been made for ministerial building maintenance and the printing of posters for the Nava Kerala Sadas. Notably, Rs 33 lakhs have been earmarked for the Face to Face with CM program amidst the financial strain.
