Kozhikode: Thamarassery Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil lashed out at the Pinarayi government, stating that a government unable to provide protection to its people should resign. In an editorial column for the Malayalam newspaper ‘Deepika,’ Bishop Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil severely criticized the Pinarayi government.
Bishop expressed his shame in referring to Kerala as a cultural state. He also mentioned that it is objectionable for the government not to amend laws to ensure the safety of human life and property.
Citing the recent frequent incidents of people being killed by wild animal attacks in Kerala, the Bishop suggested that farmers should be given the right to kill wild animals that attack the farmers. In a warning tone through the editorial column, Bishop Remigiose Inchananiyil mentioned that if the Kerala government does not find a solution for farmers, it will face strong protests.
Bishop emphasized that wild animal attacks by elephants, tigers, wild buffaloes, and wild boars are increasingly common occurrences in the hill stations of Kerala. He questioned how parents can send their children to schools for education in such situations. He also asked who guarantees the safety of farmers farming on their fields in the region.
