Thiruvananthapuram: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a ‘Chalo Secretariat’ march in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, seeking justice for Siddharth, who was found death at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University campus in Pookode. The march was commenced from Siddharth’s house after Siddharth’s father, Jayaprakash, handed over the lighted torch for the march to the Secretariat.
ABVP National Secretary Shravan B. Raj said that this long march is aimed at ending the anguish of Siddharth’s parents. He said that the ABVP would be on strike until the CBI takes over the investigation and justice is served. The march was concluded in front of the Secretariat at 7 p.m., where they lit lanterns in front of Siddhart’s portrait.
National Working Committee member NCT Srihari said that the Chief Minister has not even taken the time to visit Siddharth’s house, which is only 15 km from the Secretariat. He said that the reign of terror of pro-left teachers and SFI activists on campuses should be wiped out.
