Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has mandated the display of posters featuring the Chief Minister’s image in ration shops across the state. This decision follows the rejection of a proposal to display the Prime Minister’s poster in these establishments.
The poster prominently features the Chief Minister’s photograph alongside the title ‘abhimaanamaanu nammute pothuvitharanam’ (our public distribution is our pride). Additionally, it includes the image of the food minister. Failure to comply with this directive may result in action against the ration shop owners.
The move signifies a deliberate attempt by the state government to rebrand central government initiatives as their own. The poster also promises to ensure a consistent supply of monthly foodgrain rations.
Following the refusal to comply with the central directive to display the Prime Minister’s poster, these newly designed posters are being distributed to Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns. Reports suggest that authorities will conduct inspections to verify whether the posters are present in ration shops.
