Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar indirectly criticized Rahul Mamkootathil, the Kerala state Youth Congress president. Ganesh Kumar vehemently criticized Rahul Mamkootathil for his unparliamentary and insulting remarks against Padmaja Venugopal. Ganesh Kumar expressed disappointment on Rahul Mamkootathil’s defamatory comments about the pedigree and parentage of the late Chief Minister K Karunakaran’s daughter, Padmaja Venugopal.

Ganesh Kumar also condemned senior Congress leaders for failing to regulate such derogatory remarks, deeming them unfair.

Ganesh Kumar said that he observed that several Congress leaders, who once sought favours from Karunakaran and Padmaja for their own selfish needs, were now ignoring the disrespectful and derogatory comments made against Padmaja Venugopal and family. Without naming anyone publicly, Ganesh Kumar criticized certain Congress leaders, including national figures now contesting in Kerala for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, for misusing their relationship with the Karunakaran family.

Ganesh Kumar asserted that only Ramesh Chennithala had disowned Rahul Mamkootathil’s remarks against Padmaja Venugopal. He accused some Congress leaders of trying to create an illusion of having full freedom at Karunakaran’s house when Karunakaran was Kerala’s CM.

Ganesh Kumar said that such leaders, by showcasing their close relationship with the CM in front of the Police Chief and Chief Secretary, gained various benefits. He pointed out that these same leaders, who had benefited from privileges from the Karunakaran family, were now silent against the insulting comments directed at Padmaja Venugopal and her family.

Ganesh Kumar urged the Congress leaders who made defamatory comments to apologize.

Rahul Mamkootathil vehemently insulted Padmaja Venugopal for joining the BJP and made defamatory comments about her parentage. Rahul Mamkootathil’s comments sparked several controversies, but none of the senior Congress leaders responded to this incident.

In response to Rahul Mamkootathil’s comments, Padmaja Venugopal remarked that leaders who are only grown up through participation in TV news debates do not deserve a response.
