Ernakulam: The Kerala government faces accusations of favoritism in appointments within various government institutions, with the latest complaint filed by the dean of the technical university. The Dean of the Technical University has taken the matter to the High Court, alleging that the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) altered qualifications to appoint VA Arun Kumar, son of former Kerala CM VS Achuthanandan, as the Director.
The revised amendment states that instead of teaching experience, additional directorial experience would be enough for the post of IHRD director. It was also revealed that the Executive Committee, rather than the Governing Body, recommended the government to amend the qualifications, leading to accusations of illegality in the process.
