Pathanamthitta: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in Pathanamthitta during his address in the election campaign. Emphasizing the infusion of youthful energy into the region’s politics, he hailed NDA candidate Anil K Antony as a symbol of youthfulness. Modi projected a sweeping victory for the NDA, aiming for more than 400 seats in the upcoming elections.
In his speech, Modi criticized the alternating Left and Right governments in Kerala, labeling them as symbols of mismanagement. He highlighted the challenges faced by rubber farmers and decried the government’s apparent indifference. Modi also raised concerns about law and order issues, citing instances of violence against priests and the alleged communist violence in college campuses, leading to a climate of fear among the youth.
Accusing the LDF and UDF of pursuing power at the expense of the state’s welfare, Modi asserted that Kerala’s progressive populace had ousted the Left from Bengal and Tripura. He accused the ruling alliances of engaging in vote bank politics while the Central government focused on Kerala’s development.
Modi cited various Central government initiatives benefiting Pathanamthitta, including the Jal Jeevan Mission providing drinking water taps to thousands, free ration distribution, Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits, and LPG connections under the Ujjwala Yojana.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for NDA MPs from Kerala to represent the state’s interests in the Central government and accelerate its development.
