Kottayam: The Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) has announced its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Thushar Vellappally, the party’s state president, will contest from Kottayam, while Sangeetha Vishwanath will contest from Idukki. These declarations were made during a press conference convened by the party president, marking the official announcement of all four BDJS contenders for the Lok Sabha elections.
Expressing confidence in securing success in Kottayam, Thushar Vellappally emphasized the necessity of having an NDA MP from Kottayam to address the concerns of rubber farmers. He asserted that only the Narendra Modi-led government can effectively support the farmers, stating that the presence of an NDA MP in Kottayam would facilitate the establishment of a base price of Rs 250 for rubber without any hindrances. Thushar Vellappally further conveyed assurances from the Central government and the BJP national leadership regarding this matter during the announcement of his candidacy in Kottayam.
Earlier, BDJS leadership had announced KA Unnikrishnan as the candidate for Chalakudy and Baiju Kalasala for Mavelikara. With the addition of these new candidates, the NDA has now put forth a total of 16 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
