Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding the hike in temperature in various districts across Kerala. With the mercury steadily climbing, a yellow alert has been declared in 10 districts today.
Palakkad, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kannur districts are under yellow alert. According to IMD forecasts, temperature are expected to soar up to 39 degrees Celsius in Palakkad and Kollam districts, while Alappuzha and Kottayam districts may experience temperature reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius.
Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, and Kozhikode are forecast to experience temperature reaching up to 37 degrees Celsius, with other districts are expected to experience temperature reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius until Wednesday.
Meanwhile, light rain has been predicted in Kollam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta districts, providing some respite from the soaring temperature in these areas.
