Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has requested the Election Commission to change the polling date in Kerala, citing difficulties with Friday prayers for Muslims. KPCC Acting President MM Hassan has urged the commission to address the inconvenience faced by voters and polling agents.
He emphasized to the media that polling on Friday would pose difficulties, highlighting that voting on this day is inconvenient for everyone as it coincides with the day of congregational prayers at mosques. Therefore, he stated that the election date should be changed. The Election Commission announced the election date on Saturday, with polling scheduled to be held in Kerala on April 26.
