Palakkad: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for Palakkad Lok Sabha Constituency, C Krishnakumar, expressed that there is a positive response to the Narendra Modi government in Kerala as well. He highlighted the momentum generated by the Prime Minister among women voters, predicting its impact in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Krishnakumar pointed out the clear shift in people’s sentiments, stating that every family in Palakkad has benefited from the central government in some way or the other. According to him, this faith of the people on the Modi government is what gives strength to the NDA.
Palakkad is far behind in the field of medical facilities and treatments urging the need for a modern super specialty hospital. Krishnakumar assured the people of Palakkad that if elected, he would ensure the realization of the promised AIIMS for Kerala in Palakkad. People are evaluating the benefits granted by the central government particularly its developmental initiatives aimed at reaching the genuine beneficiaries. Krishnakumar said that it was during the period 2015-2020, when he was the Vice-Chairman of the Palakkad Municipal Corporation, that the Central Government included the city of Palakkad in the Amrit scheme. He said that comprehensive development was undertaken in Palakkad under this scheme at a cost of Rs 220 crore.
According to Krishnakumar, both the Left front and the Congress have failed to contribute anything towards the development of Palakkad. The LDF and UDF MPs who have represented the constituency so far have not had any particular achievements to point out in the constituency. But the Modi government has positively impacted Palakkad by allocating funds, with Rs 72 crores designated in Amrit 2.0 alone. He added that while the NDA candidates seek votes on the grounds of development, the Left front and Congress are seeking votes on the grounds of communalism.
