Washington: The United States President, Donald Trump, said that countries including India, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, etc. will have to fight terrorism in Afghanistan at some point in time. He said that the job of fighting terrorism was only done by the US even when it is 7,000 miles away, while other countries were doing only little.
While speaking to reporters at the White House, he said, “At a certain point Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey they are going to have to fight their battles too. We wiped out the caliphate 100 per cent. I did it in record time.”
His comments came a day after he told that the US would not completely withdraw from Afghanistan and would have “somebody there” to ensure that Taliban does not come to power again.
The US President said, “Look, India is right there. They are not fighting it. We are fighting it. Pakistan is right next door. They are fighting it very little. Very, very little. It’s not fair. The United States is 7,000 miles away.”
Donald Trump said that he had destroyed the IS and the Caliphate 100%.
However, he added that after the Caliphate was gone, the US is holding thousands of IS fighters in prison and asked European countries to take them back as these fighters came from countries in Europe.
Trump warned that if these countries do not take them back then he has no other choice other than to send them to their respective countries.
He said, “We beat them. We captured them. We’ve got thousands of them and now as usual our allies say, no, we don’t want them even though they came from France and Germany and other places. So we’re going to tell them and we have already told them take these prisoners that we’ve captured because the United States is not going to put them in Guantanamo for the next 50 years and pay for it.”
