London: Pakistan’s continuous efforts to internationalize the Kashmir issue is being thwarted from every corner. On Saturday, founder of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain backed the abrogation of Article 370 and said that it was India’s internal matter.
Hussain also warbled the patriotic song, ‘Sare jahan se accha Hindustan humara’ while addressing his followers.
Hussain, who is living in an exile in London said that the Narendra Modi government had taken the decision to scrap the special status of Jammu and Kashmir “with the overwhelming support of the people of India,” as per the statement from the MQM.

Hussain lashed out at the Pakistan government for misleading the Pakistanis over the Kashmir issue for the last 72 years.
Altaf Hussain narrated the history of Pakistan’s interference in the matters of Jammu and Kashmir and said, ” Pakistan invaded Jammu and Kashmir and for that purpose used people of the tribal belt of Pakistan, arming them to attack and free J & K. Following this, the Maharaja of J & K approached India for help, consenting to merge the princely state with India. Pakistan fought four wars with India over the region but faced a humiliating defeat in all those four fights. Pakistan had not stopped conspiring against India and continued to infiltrate Indian territory with armed non-state actors in the form of Jihadists.”
He voiced that, ” Pakistan misuses Kashmiris and drives them to a corner where they have no choice except to hoist Pakistani flag and chant slogans for making J&K party of Pakistan.”
He also emphasized on the plight of minorities in Pakistan during his address. ” Pakistan’s military butchered unarmed and defenceless innocent Mohajirs, Balochs, Pashtuns, Sindhis, Hazarwalls, Gilgitis and other oppressed nations facing serious oppression in Pakistan,” Hussain stated.
He noted that, even though both the countries achieved independence at the same time, India managed to register growth in all sectors while Pakistan remains to catch up with its neighbouring country.
“India attained this level because it had, soon after freedom, eliminated the decayed feudal system. Unfortunately, this decayed and corrupt feudal system is in full swing in Pakistan,” a statement by the MQM quoted him as saying.
