Vladivostok: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday visited the ‘Zvezda’ Shipbuilding Complex aiming to learn about Russia’s exemplary capabilities in the shipbuilding sector as well as explore possibilities of cooperation in this area.
‘Zvezda’ Shipbuilding Complex is a project of strategic importance for Russia’s Far Eastern region. The complex aims to increase the production capacity of the existing shipyard, which will construct navy and commercial vessels, offshore construction vessels and ice-class vessels for use in the Arctic region.
Modi is on a two-day visit to hold talks with Putin on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum to give a new impetus to bilateral ties between India and Russia.
