Geneva: The world is witnessing the atrocities of Pakistan Army through the protests of those people whom the Pakistanis have tortured and killed. Today the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) staged a protests in front of the United Nations to highlight the brutalities and torture inflicted upon the Pashtun people by the Pakistani Army.
PTM activists from across Europe assembled at the United Nations office to protest against human right violations in Khyper Pakhtunkhwa.
PTM activist Fazal ur Rehman Afridi said, “The entire world knows that Pashtuns are being persecuted by Pakistan. They are oppressed. They have been killed and forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani army.”
He said that the Pashtun people are missing, detained and tortured. Many are suffering from psychological problems.
Afridi added, “So we, Pashtuns, demand the international community to look into the matter and establish an internatioal inquiry commission to look into what has happened.”
The Pashtuns are killed by the Pakistan Army after the so-called military action against terrorists began in Pashtun dominated areas.
The PTM activists said that the main concern of the Pashtuns is that Pakistan is not giving them a right to live and utilize the resources of their own land. The Army harasses the tribal leaders and drive the Pashtun people out from their homes.
Afridi said, “Pakistan always says that we have rendered sacrifices against terrorism but actually it’s not a fact. Actually, Pakistan itself is sponsoring terrorism. They say that there is a curfew in Kashmir but FATA is under curfew since the past 15 years. We are in a legal and constitutional black hole.”
Another activist said that there are many evidences of Pakistan brutalities in the open and the entire world knows it. He said that the world is supporting Narendra Modi because of this.
The PTM activists launched a poster campaign and also campaign on social media with #StopPashtunGenocide.
