New York: Seven people aboard a vintage World War II plane were killed on Wednesday when it crashed shortly after takeoff, erupting into flames at Bradley International Airport, just outside of Hartford, Connecticut, authorities said.
The aircraft was used by the US Air Force to carry out attacks against Germany and Japan during World War II.
There were 13 people on board the Boeing B-17, two pilots, one attendant, and 10 passengers. The dead have not yet been identified. Six people were seriously injured in the accident. Authorities say the crash was caused by a technical failure.
