Tokyo: Japan is facing a ‘very strong’ category typhoon ‘Hagibis’ with torrential rains and storm having already hit Chiba Prefecture.
More than 6,00,000 people are being evacuated to face the Typhoon Hagibis. Japanese Meteorological Agency has put typhoon ‘Hagibis’ in the ‘very strong’ category, which is moving northwards over the Pacific towards Japan’s main island of Honshu, NHK World reported.
The agency has reported that Hagibis is 180 kilometres per hour near its centre and with heavy winds running up to 252 kilometres per hour.
The agency on Saturday issued an emergency warning for landslides in cities including Tokyo and Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture.
