Frankfurt: Multimedia exhibition on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was organized in the India Pavilion at the Frankfurt International Book Fair. The life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi were celebrated by performing Dandi Yatra today. Participants in huge number took part in the Yatra which was made vibrant by young students and their enthusiasm.
Speaking at the occasion the Consul General of India in Frankfurt Pratibha Parkar said that the whole world is celebrating the 150th Birth anniversary of Gandhiji to re-emphasize his message of truth and non-violence. She also distributed away the prizes to the students who participated in the event. The event culminated with the pledge by participants to follow the path shown by Bapu to make the world a better place.
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting participates in Frankfurt Book Fair every year but this is the first time when a multimedia exhibition has been organised. The Pavilion is the centre of attraction this year as people get to have relevant information on Gandhiji and other eminent leaders in a short span with the touch of a screen.
The Frankfurt International Book Fair is the largest and most important book fair which is held annually in the month of October. This year the five day fair is being organised from 16th to 20th October.
