Washington DC: One of the most popular media houses in the United States, Washington Post, came under fire and mockery after it published the news of the killing of Islamic State (IS) chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi under a headline which states that the terror chief was an ‘austere religious scholar’.
The full headline of the Washington Post read: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48”
Naturally readers were surprised and angry at the soft headlining of the article and wondered at the insensitiveness of the pro-liberal media house.
Washington Post seems to have gone soft on the most evil and cruel terror chief in the world. Baghdadi was responsible for the mindless killings and torture of thousands of people and the systematic genocide of minority Yezidis and Christians. He was also responsible for the rape, torture, beheadings, sex slave trade and many atrocities against humanity.
Instead of giving a headline that would depict the monster face of Baghdadi, the Washington Post chose to call him an ‘austere religious scholar’.
Twitterati reacted swiftly to the headline and began making fun of Washington Post’s insensitiveness. #WaPoDeathNotices began to trend on twitter and many took to it to give ‘soft’ headlines to death notices of notorious personalities such as Adolf Hitler and Ajmal Kasab.
Left liberal media have always shown an affinity to Islamic terrorism and have gone out of the way to paint Islamic terrorists as victims of Western imperialism. Many suspect that the soft headline at Washington Post is just another example of the left liberals becoming stooges at the global designs of Islamic terrorism.
