Washington DC: Amid ongoing tensions between US and Iran, the United States have decided to deploy additional troops to the Middle East, informed a US defence official.
Pentagon has also confirmed the additional deployment of troops from a US’ Immediate Response Force unit, reported CNN.
The decision comes after Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani got killed in airstrikes conducted by US. Donald Trump said that the killing of Iran’s commander was aimed to ‘stop a war, not to start a war.’
On the other side, Iran on Friday pledged to take a ‘vigorous revenge’ over the killing of General Qasem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s elite IRGC.
