Washington: The United States President, Donald Trump, today spoke tough against Iran after the Islamic nation launched missile attacks against Iraqi military bases that housed US personnel.
Donald Trump told the Iranian authorities to abandon its nuclear ambition and said that the slain Iranian commander Soleimani was responsible for some of the worst atrocities.
Trump said, “As long as I am the President of the United States, Iran will never be permitted to have a nuclear weapon. We will never let that happen. Soleimani was responsible for some of the absolutely worst atrocities. All our soldiers are safe, only minimal damages were sustained at our military bases. Iran appears to be standing down.”
The President also threatened Iran with hypersonic missiles. He said, “We are constructing many hypersonic missiles. The fact we have this great military and equipment, however, does not mean we have to use it. We do not want to use it.”
Trump also said that additional sanctions will be imposed on Iran until the country changes its behaviour.
