Islamabad: National media reports that detention camps are present in Balochistan-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions for those who express dissent against the Pakistani government.
The camps were spotted by Satellite images and is used for people in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions. The Pakistani government has been in the news many times for its atrocities against ethnic and religious minorities. The people in these regions have been protesting against the atrocities and torture of the government and local militias.
Interestingly, the Pakistani government has called the centres ‘deradicalisation camps’ where dissenters are brought in to be deradicalised and toe the government’s line.
Many believe that at these camps people are punished, most probably tortured, for their voicing against the government in Islamabad.
The camps are cited at places which include Fort Salop, Shahkas Fort, Hayatabad, Peshawar, Bara Fort, Alhaj, Charsiano, Jhansi Fort, Sipah, Shalober, and Akka Khel.
Several organizations across the world have brought out the atrocities of Pakistani government against the people of Balochistan. Even visuals of people being cruelly treated have come up from time to time. Hundreds of residents in the area are missing and the government still maintains that there is no human right violations in the region.
