Washington DC: The Pentagon on Tuesday reported that more sixteen US service members have been diagnosed with concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) post the Iranian missile attacks on US forces.
The attack took place earlier this month in Iraq in retaliation for killing top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by US.
“As of today, 50 US service members have been diagnosed with TBI,” Pentagon spokesman Lt Col Thomas Campbell said in the statement, as cited by CNN.
The spokesperson added that out of these 50 service members, 31 have resumed to duty after treatment in Iraq, 18 have been sent to Germany for further evaluation and treatment, while another one who was sent to Kuwait, has also returned to duty in Iraq.
However, it is to be noted that President Donald Trump had denied any news that troops were harmed in the attack.
