Riyadh: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has rejected US President Donald Trump’s Middle East plan, which was formulated to end the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The decision to reject the plan came at the OIC’s open ended executive committee meeting held yesterday.
The 57-member organization rejected the plan because it did not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of Palestinian people. The meeting was convened by OIC to after the Palestinians requested the international body to discuss about the plan. OIC’s rejection comes after the Arab League also formally rejected the US’ Middle East plan.
Donald Trump’s grand Middle East plan was formulated after a 3 year deliberations and was expected to solve the decades old conflict between the Israel and Palestine. The plan suggests Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and proposes a two-nation solution.
The Palestinian authority had earlier rejected the proposal just after Donald Trump unveiled his grand Middle East plan.
