Beijing: Reports say that a building in China, which was constructed to quarantine and observe those who were infected with Covid-19, has collapsed trapping around 70 persons in the debris.
The building, located in the Fujian province of China was originally a hotel, that was used as a makeshift hospital to quarantine and observe those who were infected with the virus. The collapsed 5-storey building had 80 rooms.
34 people have been rescued according to the report. The incident occurred a few hours ago.
Chinese official news agency said that rescue operations are continuing. It is reported that there are 296 confirmed Covid-19 cases and another 10,819 people are under observation.
