Islamabad: Pakistan is having its toughest time when it is already finding difficulty to deal with COVID-19, several new cases of poliovirus have been reported in the country. The health crisis is deepening in Pakistan.
Despite 1000 cases of COVID-19 were reported, Pakistan government defied a lockdown due to fear of economic crisis, which is aleady existing in the country.
Dawn reported that three boys have been paralysed un Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwest part of the country by crippling polio, taking up the current year’s tally to 36 on Monday.
The World Health Organisation back in 2014 had imposed a polio-linked restriction on Pakistan. It means every Pakistani traveling abroad has to carry a polio vaccination certificate along with other valid documents.
Meanwhile, more than 16,000 people have been infected with coronavirus, taking lives of 17.
