Karachi: At least five people were killed and three got injured after armed men attacked Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi at 10 am on Monday.
The security forces gunned down the armed men. According to Pakistan media, at least 7 have injured. The people are being evacuated from the area following the attack.
At least two civilians have been so far reported dead.
As per the report in Dawn, four attackers came out of their vehicle and threw grenades after which they reportedly entered the building. The gunmen attacked the building, which is in a high-security zone that also houses the head offices of many private banks, with grenades and guns, Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon told Reuters.
The Baloch Liberation Army, which works for the independence of Balochistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
