Washington: US State Secretary Mike Pompeo and the Defence chief of US Mark Esper will visit India next week for talks with their Indian counterparts S Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh. They will arrive in India on October 27.
“It’s our second two plus two with the Indians, the third ever for the United States and India and it’s very important,” said Esper at Atlantic Council.
“It’s the world’s largest democracy, a very capable country with very talented people, and they face off, every day, Chinese aggression in the Himalayas,” Esper said of India.
This will be the third edition of the India-US 2+2 meeting. The first one was hosted by India in New Delhi in 2018 and the next by the United States in Washington DC in 2019.
