Kathmandu [Nepal]: Nepal government on Friday granted approval for the emergency usage of Indian made Corona vaccine- Covishield- which is being manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.
“It is to notify that the conditional permission has been granted for emergency use authorisation of Covishield vaccine against Covid 19 in Nepal as per the departmental decision dated 15 Jan 2021”, informed DDC through a notice.
India had earlier given permission for the restricted emergency usage of Covishield and Covaxin. India’s Covid vaccination drive will start from January 16. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the vaccination drive virtually.
