Washington [US]: Kamala Harris who will take oath on Wednesday as the United State’s first woman Vice President, has sent a note to the people of the United States just hours before the inauguration ceremony at the West Fort in the US Capitol.
“When Joe Biden asked me to join him as his Vice President, saying yes was an easy decision. While I first knew Joe as the Vice President, I really got to know him as the father who loved my dear friend, the late Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden”, wrote the Vice President.
“Joe and I come from different backgrounds- but we were raised with the same values: Hard work, Honesty, Decency. A belief that we all have a responsibility to look out for one another”, said Mrs. Harris.
She further added that they will confront the daily challenges facing working people and will unify the nation rather then dividing it. “we’ll confront the daily challenges facing working people with the same determination and steady leadership applied to addressing the most serious crises facing our nation. And starting tomorrow, we’ll work to unify our country, tackle the challenges facing our nation, and renew the promise of America”, concluded Mrs. Harris.
The President-elect of the United States Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will swear in today at the West Fort of the US Capitol as the 46th President and the 49th Vice President of the US.
