The Ministry of External Affairs has informed that Manpreet Vohra, presently Ambassador of India to Mexico, has been appointed as next high commissioner to Australia. Vohra is a 1988 batch Indian Foreign Service Officer.
“Manpreet Vohra, Ambassador of India to Mexico, has been appointed as the next high commissioner of India to Australia. He is expected to take charge shortly,” Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
Vohra’s appointment comes at a time when India-Australia ties are at an upswing and the two countries are stepping up cooperation particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
