The Netherlands on Sunday (March14) has advised, as a precautionary measure and pending further investigation, to suspend the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine after possible side effects were seen in Denmark and Norway.
According to a statement released by the Dutch Government, the Astra Zeneca vaccine will not be used in the next two weeks, until March 28.
This decision has been taken by the Dutch Health Ministry after six new reports of thrombosis (clot formation) and reduced number of blood platelets in adults under 50 years of age have been reported.
