Moscow, July 1 (UNI) Russia remains a reliable partner when it comes to producing and supplying food grain, fertilizers and energy, President Vladimir Putin told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
Putin gave the assurance when the Indian leader telephoned him, the Kremlin said. The agenda for the talks between the two leaders included issues related to Russian-Indian relations, the Putin administration said in a statement.
“Putin noted that Russia has been and remains a reliable producer and supplier of grain, fertilizers and energy, including to Indian partners,” it read.
At the request of Modi, Putin also briefed him on the key aspects of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine, the Kremlin added. Additionally, the Russian leader told the Indian Prime Minister the mistakes a number of countries had made leading to the violation of the free trade architecture and provoking price increases, the statement said.
India has refused to condemn Russia over the Ukraine invasion but criticized aspects of the fighting which have led to civilian deaths.
