Colombo: Two old aged people fainted and died while standing in queue for food grains and fuel in Sri Lanka. The incident happened in the midst of the situation while the nation is creeping in an extreme financial crisis.
After implementing ration on food grains and fuel, the people in all cities have to stand in long queues for weeks.
After the collapse of the Lankan Government, Sri Lanka has now been supplying food grains that were provided from different nations including India. The long queues are being controlled by deploying armies in front of petrol pumps and food grain storage centres.
Public anger against the Rajapaksa family led to the capture of the President’s official residence and burning of the Prime Minister’s private residence.
