Dubai: The Indian Consulate has started the mission to replace flood-damaged passports. Indian expats will get free replacement of new passports. Free applications are accepting through camps held on Sundays in flood-affected areas.
So far 80 applications have been received through the camps held in Kalba and Fujairah, informed the officials. The opportunity for the application is till August 28. Police FIR, passport copy and photograph should be submitted along with the application.
Meanwhile, there is a possibility for heavy rain in the northern and eastern regions of the UAE. The Meterological Department has issued a warning. There is a possibility for rain till Wednesday. Rainfall at the end of last month made a huge destruction on Eastern Emirates. The emirates of Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras al-Khaimah were heavily damaged. Seven Asians lost their lives.
