Kathmandu: Massive repercussions to Nepal that trusted China. The issue occurred when China announced lockdown in the name of Covid.
300 containers for Vijayadashami celebrations, for which Nepal already paid money, have stranded on the border of the nations. This is continuously for the third year, Nepal is being blocked from celebrating ‘Dashain’, a festival on Vijayadashami, due to Covid.
The unexpected lockdown was issued in Thathopany, on the Nepal-China boundary, yesterday. The Rasuwagadhi border was closed for one week. Two important regions are blocked due to the lockdown and the merchants and vendors are expecting a great loss in the coming Vijayadashami festival.
Dashaini is the longest annual festival celebrated in Nepal. Merchants in the Nepal region had already paid the money for these goods that are now stranded in different regions. The country is facing a drastic financial crisis due to the Covid and China had issued them money with huge interest rates.
