Dhaka: Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, has said that the refugees are a great burden for them too. She also clarified that they are seeking the support of the international community to send back the refugees from their country.
India can play a major role to resolve the issue and we are expecting India’s support, said Sheikh Hasina in an interview with a private news agency given before her visit to India.
Hasina said that Bangladesh has 1.1 million Rohingyan refugees. India is a vast country and can find some solution to this.
Bangladesh cannot afford Rohingyan refugees for a long time. There are issues like drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and human trafficking and it is increasing day by day. It is better they left the country soon.
We are requesting the help of UNO (United Nations Organisation) and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) on the same, informed Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina’s 4 days India visit will begin on Monday.
