Kabul: An encounter took place at Kabul, capital of Afghanistan between IS (Islamic State) and terrorists. The Taliban government announced that six Islamic State militants were killed in the incident. The encounter was followed by the Taliban’s inspection at the hideout of IS . A Taliban official also died in the incident. Similar clashes have taken place in Kabul in recent weeks.
The Taliban said several people, including female students, were killed in attacks on Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque and Kaj Institute in the city weeks ago. No group claimed responsibility for either attack. On September 30, 53 female students were killed in an explosion at Kaj Institute.
On September 23, seven people were killed and more than 40 injured in an explosion near a mosque in Wazir Akbar Khan. Several attacks have been reported since the Taliban took power in 2021. The United Nations responded that the series of explosions in Kabul and other urban areas posed a challenge to people’s security.
