Istanbul: It is reported that a Syrian woman was arrested in connection with the explosion in Turkey on Sunday evening. The Turkish police say that she placed the bomb that caused the explosion. The information received by the police is that a woman who works for Kurdish terrorists has been arrested.
Turkish police say the Syrian woman admitted that she placed the bomb based on the instruction of Kurdish terrorists. The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) instructed the woman. The PKK is one of the internationally listed terrorist organizations. Police believe the woman, who was trained by Kurdish terrorists, entered Turkey through the Afrin region in northwest Syria. Police have arrested 22 people besides the Syrian woman in connection with the blast. Many of the accused have already taken into custody.
The explosion took place around 4.13pm on Sunday in a busy street in Istanbul, Turkey’s financial city. Six Turkish citizens were killed and more than 50 injured in the blast. The government is currently concluding that the explosion in Istanbul is a terrorist attack.
