Bali: It was the first meeting held between the Indian PM Narendra Modi and the British PM Rishi Sunak at the occasion of the G20 Summit. Modi said that the meeting was a great honour and heart touching. Modi gifted the picture of Goddess sewed with clothes from Ahmedabad Handcrafts.

“Was great to meet PM @RishiSunak in Bali. India attaches great importance to robust ties. We discussed ways to increase commercial linkages, raise the scope of security cooperation in context of India’s defence reforms and make people-to-people ties even stronger. Modi tweeted after meeting Rishi Sunak.

The moment when both Modi and Sunak met for the first time was indeed a historical one, said the ministry of foreign affairs.

Sunak said to Modi that it is a great opportunity given by the people to lead the nation at its most crucial and needed time.
