Washington: America with good news for homosexuals. The US Senate passed a bill allowing same-sex marriage. US President Joe Biden passed the bill by voting. The legalization of same-sex marriage has been controversial in the United States and has led to many protests. The President stated that the US has taken a historic decision by passing the bill. Love is love and Americans should have the right to marry the person they love.
The Senate’s action follows concerns that the Supreme Court will overturn a 2015 ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. 61 members of the Senate voted in favor of the bill and 36 voted against. If the Supreme Court approves this bill, no state in America can ban same-sex marriage.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the legislation is part of America’s difficult but inevitable march toward greater equality. He added that President Joe Biden praised the move as making it possible for the LGBTQ community to live happy and build families of their own and promised to sign the bill with pride.
