Kabul: In Afghanistan, the suspect in the murder case was publicly executed. Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said that the order of the Top Court was implemented. The incident took place in Western Farah province. Last month, the Taliban’s top leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, ordered court judges to carry out public executions in accordance with Sharia law.
In 2017, the punishment was carried out for the accused in the case of stabbing a person to death. It was decided to execute the death penalty in the case after checking all three courts under Sharia law.
Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar, Chief Justice, Foreign Minister, Education Minister and others witnessed the execution. Public executions, pelting stone to death and whipping were common punishments in Afghanistan during the 1996 Taliban regime.
