Jerusalem: Benjamin Netanyahu sworn in as the Prime Minister of Israel. The cabinet was formed for the sixth time under the leadership of Netanyahu, who was the longest serving prime minister.
Netanyahu has the support of 63 of the 120-member Knesset. In addition to Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party, the cabinet is supported by far-right national religious parties. 54 people voted against Netanyahu’s government. The 73-year-old Netanyahu also holds the record for the country’s longest serving prime minister.
Netanyahu said it was his duty to serve all Israeli citizens, whether they voted for him or not. He also stated that the immediate aims are to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power country, start a bullet train that reaches from one end of the country to the other, and bring more Arab countries into the Abraham Accords.
