Tel Aviv: According to a report, former military chief of Israel and present lawmaker, Gadi Eisenkot, revealed that the Israeli security forces had killed hundreds of ISIS terrorists during 2015. The attack was done outside Israel’s territory but declined to name the countries where the Israeli security forces launched its attacks.
Gadi Eisenkot was speaking at a conference in the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, when he made this revelation, said the report.
Eisenkot said that Israel was asked to act against the ISIS by a third party. He did not elaborate on the identity of the third party. He said that the operation spanned “many more than one country.”
The former military chief said, “There are few states in the world that can identify targets the size of a postage stamp and then strike it with a missile anywhere within a 1000-kilometer radius…Our enemies saw us do this, the Russians saw it and so did the Americans.”
Israel has been active against the ISIS and has apprehended many ISIS-inspired terrorists. They have also detained many Arab-Israelis planning to join ISIS in Syria.
Gadi Eisenkot was the 21st Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. He is now a lawmaker of the National Unity alliance in Knesset.
