Munich: In a shocking incident in Germany, an Indian couple was stabbed by an immigrant. Unfortunately, the husband succumbed to his injuries while the wife’s condition is stable.
Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has extended full support of the Indian government to the family of the bereaved.
According to reports, Indian couple Prashant and Smita Basarur were stabbed near Munich.
Both studied together in Mangalore University where Prashant pursued engineering while Smita did a post-graduation in arts. They came to Germany after Prashant began working with Airbus Helicopters in Donauworth.
The couple have two children Saakshi and Shlok. The Foreign Minister tweeted that the government is facilitating the travel of Prashant’s brother to Germany.
She also asked Indian embassy in Germany to take care of the children and praised the Consulate General of India in Munich for their work in supporting the family.
More reports of the incident and the identity of the immigrant behind the attack is yet to come.
