New Delhi:Australian Speaker Milton Dick recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia earlier this year, noting the extraordinary reception he received in Sydney, like that of a rockstar.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Australian Speaker Milton Dick praised the global popularity of PM Modi. He stated, ‘Our Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, visited, and earlier this year, we had the successful visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Australia. In my lifetime, I have never witnessed such an enthusiastic response and pouring support for a world leader. Hosting the Prime Minister was a privilege for our country.’
Dick emphasized the remarkable turnout and support during PM Modi’s visit to Sydney, mentioning the strong connection between Bharat and Australia, with one million people of Indian heritage residing in Australia.
“The reception he received in Sydney was really one of a rockstar. Thousands of people turned out. And, if you go to Australia, there are 1 million people of Indian heritage…Not only does that make our country stronger but it makes our link even stronger between India and Australia,” he said.
During his three-day visit in May this year, PM Modi held bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Albanese, addressed a historic community program, engaged with business leaders, and met prominent Australians. The community event at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park drew thousands of overseas Indians.
