Senegal: Reports say that the Indian gangster, Ravi Pujari, who is wanted in India for over 200 cases of extortion and murder, has jumped bail and escaped from the Western African country of Senegal. He was arrested on 21 January in Senegal and was given bail by a local court last week.

The Senegal government has not confirmed his escape from the country. The gangster is believed to have fled the country by road as per reports. A Red Corner Notice has been issued by the Interpol against Ravi Pujari.

Ravi Pujari, who started out his illegal activities from an early age, was noticed by Chotta Rajan and was his protégée till Dawood Ibrahim made an attempt on Rajan’s life in Bangkok. Though, the two parted ways after the assassination bid, Ravi Pujari has continuously contacted the police bragging about his attacks on those close to Dawood Ibrahim and his aide Chotta Shakeel.

He also has a history of giving death threats to famous personalities in Bollywood and in politics. He was also accused of threatening Kerala Congress party leader P. C. George and also being behind a gun violence in a beauty parlor in Ernakulam.

India has been trying to extradite for a long time now from Senegal. The gangster has intentionally got a fraud case registered against him in Senegal and got himself arrested. Senegalese law blocks extradition until all the cases registered in Senegal against the suspect is settled.

Indian security agencies will find it hard to track him once he has gone underground. The gangster had built a hotel business in the African country and has been controlling his vast illegal businesses and operations in India from his safe abode in that country.
