Seoul: United States President, Donald Trump, today created history by becoming the first president to enter the territory of North Korea to meet and shake hands with Kim Jong-Un.
They met at the village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. The Zone is a 4 km wide and 250 km long space which divides North and South Korea since the Korean War in 1953.
After that Trump walked in to North Korean territory.
Kim said, “It’s good to see you again. I didn’t expect to see meet you at this place. ”
Donald Trump replied by saying, “Stepping across that line was a great honour”. Trump has also invited the North Korean leader to the White House, however, he said later that it wouldn’t happen any time soon.
The US President had expressed his wish to meet the Korean dictator before leaving Japan for South Korea. He tweeted, “After some very important meetings, including my meeting with President Xi of China, I will be leaving Japan for South Korea (with President Moon). While there, if Chairman Kim of North Korea sees this, I would meet him at the Border/DMZ just to shake his hand and say Hello(?)!,”
Earlier Trump had first met with Kim Jong- Un in a highly successful meet at Singapore. He next met the dictator at Hanoi, Vietnam. However, the summit did not go as desired as the North Korean Leader refused to denuclearize without any subsequent withdrawal of sanctions from the side of United States.
